Ab Doer

John Abdo is the inventor of the Ab Doer and has been pedaling his ab machine for a number of years now on late night TV and now the Internet.

He claims that with his machine you can trim the abs and obliques and lose your love handles just by using his machine. He also gives you access to his online members only website where you can become a “insider” on his message board.

There are some pretty riveting testimonials on the website, and some large claims made as to the effectiveness of the Ab Doer machine…

Ab Chair Manufacturer Claims:

“AB-DOer is 6 times more effective at training the muscles of the spinal column when compared to Crunches” and “Heart rate and oxygen consumption was significantly greater when using the AB-DOer when compared to crunches which have a low aerobic effect”.

“Trims abs and obliques, replaces at least 6 gym exercises, targets your abs, obliques and entire back. Shave those love handles fast. The only ab machine that’s aerobic!”

John, I hate to break it to you, but you’re selling false hope to desperate people that want great abs but don’t realize that they’ll never get them unless they change their lifestyle (I guess that’s what the online website membership is for, huh?).

Truth be told you’re not going to get much use from the Ab Doer. The claim that it’s an aerobic ab machine is a stretch because to get an effective aerobic workout you’ll need to be pushing towards your aerobic threshold for longer than 5 minutes or you’re wasting your time.

Instead of the Ab Doer, they should call it the Ab Donter…

What people don’t do is eat right when they are looking to lose weight. I have lost weight around the waist in the month I have used it. Everyday my pants seem to fit better. It takes time to look great as most of us abuse my bodies for years by eating terribly. Hit the veggies and fruits guys. Eat a tablespoon of lite mayo (35 calories) with your veggies. Eat 4 ounces of lean turkey, fish or chicken twice a day with a big breakfast of two eggs and tiny bowl of kashi cereal. All you drink is water and skim milk. Baloney you can’t lose weight. Award yourself with 100 calories of fries baked with lunch and dinner. I’ve lost 39 pounds in less then 4 months. No diet pills that aren’t approved by the FDA (most aren’t, read the small print). Diet is most important but this abdoer shapes your body. It burns calories. Look how long it took to get your love handles? You expect to lose them over night? Keep going and you will lose the fat. No pain no gain.
