Epic E95 Elliptical
The Epic elliptical (e 950) is another elliptical machine in a long line of models and brands made by the equipment equipment behemoth Icon Fitness.
The Epic elliptical line is positioned somewhere between the Nordictrack and Reebok ellipticals in price and have some unique features specific to this model only.
Of the unique features on the Epic, I think users will like the 1 touch power incline, and 1 touch magnetic resistance. With the 1 touch feature, there’s no need to monkey around with knobs while you’re working out, just touch and go – it’s very convenient…
Epic e95 Elliptical Key Specs and Benefits:
- Magnetic Resistance
- 1-Touch Resistance with 12 resistance settings
- 10%-30% 1-Touch Power Incline
- Multi-window LED Display
- 8 Personal Training Programs
- Pulse Heart Rate Monitor
On the downside, the Epic elliptical falls short in this price range by not offering a eddy current braking system or a wireless heart rate monitor for controlling your workout, and never having to touch the machine when you’re in the zone.
I’m also a bit puzzled (since this model is made by Icon) as to why they didn’t include the iFit compatibility? I think they dropped the ball there big time.
The previous two deficiencies don’t make the Epic a deal breaker for me, but when you factor in the short warranty of only one year parts and labor, it pales in comparison to models by Schwinn and Sole that back their products with multiple year warranties across the board…
Now it’s a deal breaker!
I think the Epic elliptical has a chance to be a contender if they workout some of the shortcomings in the next generation of this machine.
