New Balance 1600 Treadmill
The New Balance 1600 treadmill is the high end treadmill offered by New Balance, and also the most popular model in their entire line.
If you’re like most people, you know that New Balance is known world wide for their high performance running shoes that come in multiple widths, and with about every custom option you could think of.
I wish the same could be said for the New Balance 1600 treadmill…
New Balance dropped the ball with their fitness equipment when they decided to let someone else manufacture and sell it for them. It appears that all they did was license their name for a big pile of cash and got out of the way.
Fitness Quest is representing the New Balance line of treadmills currently. Have you heard of them before?
Even if you don’t know the name, you’ve definitely heard of their products on late night TV – do the names Ab Lounge, Eclipse or Edge ring a bell?
I’ll keep this review short and to the point by saying that the New Balance 1600 treadmill is in the most competitive segment of the market and they don’t appear to have come prepared.
Here’s a case and point, at this price point not including wireless heart rate control is like going to your high school prom wearing one of those ridiculous tuxedo shirts, when everyone else is in a real tuxedo.
About the only thing New Balance did right with this treadmill was to include a good warranty. Unfortunately that’s a small consolation when you have to give on motor power, heart rate control and a mediocre display.
I think I’ve made my point about the New Balance 1600, time to move on and get off my soap box…
