Schwinn 820 Treadmill
The lone contender in the Schwinn treadmill line is the 820p treadmill that is the successor to the popular Schwinn 810 treadmill.
It seems there has been a change in focus with the Schwinn branch of Nautilus – yes Nautilus the same company who manufactures Bowflex, Nautilus, Tread Climber and Schwinn – to devote more attention to the new Bowflex treadmill line.
I think they’re making a good decision, Schwinn is more widely known for their exercise bikes and spinning bikes, not treadmills. Maybe it’s best to stay clear of this competitive market segment and focus on what they do best.
Schwinn 820p Key Features:
- 20″x54″ walking surface
- 2.0 hp motor with speeds from .5 to 10 mph
- Inclines from 0-15%
- Strike Zone deck cushioning
- LED display with time, speed, distance, incline, calories, heart rate
- Warranty of 30 years frame and motor, 2 years parts and electronics, 1 year labor and wear items
There are a couple of things Schwinn did right on the 820p. They were smart enough to give this machine wireless heart rate monitoring and back the treadmill with a great warranty.
Beyond those two points, there isn’t much reason to get a Schwinn 820p treadmill.
The competition is too fierce in this price point with strong contenders that blow the Schwinn 820 out of the water.
